Common Core Math: Grade 4: Geometry

In fourth grade, students formally define several new types of two-dimensional objects such as points, lines, rays and angles. Students identify and draw parallel and perpendicular lines, find lines of symmetry of two-dimensional figures and categorize angles as right, acute or obtuse. Students then classify shapes based on shared geometric properties. In particular, students recognize the category of right triangles as three-sided figures containing a right angle.
