Common Core Math: Kindergarten: Geometry

In kindergarten, students describe the shapes and positions of objects in the world around them. By referencing attributes such as the number of corners or sides, students recognize common shapes even when they are rearranged or resized. Students distinguish between flat two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional solids. Students also practice drawing and constructing shapes and, using drawings or physical models, compose smaller shapes into larger ones.
